So you are thinking about booking a session of Physical Therapy (PT) with me or you have already scheduled? And, now you would like to know how to prepare? Don’t sweat it! Here are some tips and tricks for success!

#1 – Clothing
- Upper Body:
- Please wear layers:
- Women wear a sports bra or tank top with removable top layer shirt in case I need to visualize your posture.
- Men please allow removable shirt and/or tank top in case I need to visualize your posture.
- Tip: Think comfortable clothing like you are going to the gym! Wear whatever feels good but that fits snugly or can be easily removed if I need to see what hurts!
- Please wear layers:
- Lower Body:
- Please wear shorts or leggings.
- Please wear exercise sneakers with socks.
- Head:
- Please have hair secured or tied back.
- No hats or sunglasses, please.

#2 – Charging
- Please make sure your devices are fully charged, including wireless earbuds.
- Please make sure you know where all your chargers are in a pinch.

#3 – Equipment/Furniture
- You will need a desk/table with a chair so you can set your laptop/tablet/phone in front of you to sit down to talk at the start of session and then also for exercise.
- You may also need to have a clear area set up either behind you (about 10 square feet) or in another room with a yoga mat or towel on the floor. You may need to lay on the floor or an area set up for you to lay on a couch. Don’t forget to have a chair/furniture ready to set your device on so I can see you!
- You may need a couple pillows for positioning or a few books to set your device on if we move from the table.
- A chair works great to set your device on, to balance yourself during exercise, and to use for exercise!
- Any rehab equipment? Great! Have those ready. Some helpful equipment:
- Stretch strap: rigid, not stretchy. A dog leash, long flat sheet rolled length wise, or large beach towel works great, too.
- Theraband/exercise bands
- Dumbbells
- Cuff Weights
- Yoga mat
- Foam Roller/Rolling pin

#4 – Space
- Please use a large and clutter free space (preferably a desk/table with free space behind you and your camera – about 10 square feet – so that we can evaluate and exercise appropriately).
- Please also close any blinds or curtains.
- Make sure your indoor lights are on and the space is well lit.
- Make sure the space is quiet and clear of distractions – televisions and radios are turned off and children are cared for in a separate space.
- I may need a clear hallway or about 20 foot space to observe your walking.

#5 – Internet Speed
Make sure your internet connection is strong – recommend 20 Mbps for upload and download. You can check for free here: https://fiber.google.com/speedtest/

Please also have wireless earbuds/headphones ready, wired earbuds or headphones are OK (but not preferred) and preference to use a laptop computer or tablet. Cell phone is OK if necessary. If you do not have earbuds, please make sure the speaker and microphone on your device is working and you can adjust the volume.

#6 – Pets
I LOVE PETS, but please secure them or close them in another room so I don’t get distracted fawning over your fur baby – I kid – but really make sure they are secured so you are free of distractions and tripping hazard.

#7 – Other things to bring with you
- Water with a lid.
- Notebook and paper to take notes and if you have questions prepared for me!
Thank you so much! I cannot wait to see you soon!
