Why would you need a myofascial roller??

  • Helps increase blood flow to an area, therefore helping to promote healing and take away the bad stuff that limits healing
  • Helps loosen up tight muscles or tight fascia
  • Helps warm up an area before exercise
  • Helps reduce muscle soreness if used after intense exercise

What things can you use?

  • Foam roller
  • Rolling pin style myofascial roller
  • Ball – tennis ball, lacrosse ball, dryer ball, massager ball
  • Household items like metal water bottle, broom stick, rolling pin, etc.

Make sure you make good choices!!!

  • Don’t make anything hurt significantly! It should always feel like a “hurts so good” sensation.
  • Limit yourself to just a few minutes once or twice a day.
  • Choose what works for you and feels good for you – what works for one person may not work for another.
